Location description

Zois Palace (Zoisova palača) came into existence at the end of the 18th century, when several existing buildings were joined into one. The building is famous for having been the home of Baron Žiga Zois, who made his name in the history of Slovenia as a supporter of the renaissance of the Slovenian culture at the turn of the 18th century, which has been credited to the circle of Valentin Vodnik.

The exterior of the well preserved Zois Palace reflects the influences of neo-Classicism. Well preserved is also the interior. In the palace courtyard there is an old well. Built into the courtyard wall is Baron Žiga Zois' tombstone.
