Location description

The earliest designs for a reinforced concrete bridge to be built on the site of the present Prule Bridge were prepared already before World War I, but they were not realised. The reinforced concrete bridge was supposed to replace an old wooden tramway bridge which stood on the site since around 1900, when it was transferred from the suburb of Šempeter. The present Prule Bridge was built in 1993 to a design by the architect Peter Gabrijelčič. The pavements on the sides of the bridge have an originally designed red brick paving.
